The word ‘sing’ is found over 400 times in scripture. Therefore, we can safely come to a conclusion that singing is vital to our soul, as well as our spirit. Even for those of us who cannot carry a tune, or who simply do not enjoy singing, we can enjoy music. Whether it be a soothing melody, a spirited worship song, or a calming hymn, we ought to allow ourselves to be still and be filled. Music, song, singing… whichever our personal preference may be… is a tool which God uses to breathe life into our soul; and we become entwined with His spirit.

Take time to listen to the lyrics, or to absorb the melody. Although I have not been able to confirm who actually said one of my favorite quotes (some say St. Augustine, others say St. Francis, and still others say it is neither of these saints), I hold firm to it; which is “Singing is praying twice.” That is how much our Heavenly Father adores His children singing! I encourage you to support any of the artists which touch you with their gift of music. It can be as simple as liking the video, subscribing to their channel, or even purchasing a CD, etc.
